It's festival season at Spinzbonus, so we're going to try our best to rock you with three guitar-shredding slots.
There are many rock-themed slots over at Spinz, but we've chosen three unique takes on the genre from some of our favourite providers, covering bluesy desert rock, fist-pumping stadium rock, and grimy punk. So tune up your guitars - or don't - and take a stage dive into this crowd of combo-crushing bangers.
Wild 1
With Wild 1, Peter & Sons set out to show that rock 'n' roll is still alive in the post-apocalypse, bringing a fresh desert rock flair to what has been a very crowded genre in recent years.
The game features the ever-popular cascading symbols mechanic, meaning that winning symbols are removed from the grid allowing new symbols to drop in their place for more winning combos before the next spin.
Three scatters will trigger the free spins round, starting at 10 free spins, with a fourth scatter symbol awarding an extra free spin, a fifth awarding the Bomb Feature, and a sixth awarding another 10 free spins.
In the base game, the Bomb Feature is awarded when two scatter symbols appear, causing them to explode and remove adjacent symbols around them in a 3x3 block, allowing for more symbols to cascade in.
Bombs also affect the types of multipliers that can appear on the grid. After two bombs have gone off, Multiplier Wilds are added to the game. After four bombs, sticky Unbreakable Wilds are added. And after six bombs, Expanding Wilds are added.
Gods of Rock
Gods are something of a fixture on the slot scene, whether they're Egyptian, Greek, or Norse. In Gods of Rock, Thunderkick have found a new twist by putting musical instruments in the hands of these deities.
Once again using cascading symbols, the game also features Charged Wilds, these increase the multiplier value of the reel they land on by +1, resetting on each new spin. Once a Charged Wild has been applied, it explodes, clearing adjacent symbols from the grid for more to fall in. The number of symbols destroyed in this way feeds the game's Bonus Meter.
The Bonus Meter resets between spins. When it reaches 30 symbols collected, the Wild Encore feature is activated, placing 1-3 Charged Wilds on the grid.
If 55 symbols are collected, 8 free Gods of Rock Free Spins are awarded. During this bonus game, any active Reel Multipliers are carried over from the base game and do not reset between spins. Additionally, the Bonus Meter only resets when it is filled, and 3 extra spins are awarded when this happens.
Punk Rocker
If any game developer can deliver an authentically snarly and irreverent take on punk rock, it has to be NoLimit City. The simply titled Punk Rocker, takes place in an alley behind a club, soundtracked by the muffled strains of 70s punk classics coming from within, and featuring a rogue's gallery of anarchically defaced figures like Einstein, the Mona Lisa, and Winston Churchill.
In the game itself, two scatter symbols award a Riot Respin, in which scatters become Molotov Wilds - transforming other nearby symbols into wilds - and the Bonus Reel is activated, increasing the ways to win. Any reels then containing wild symbols are then locked for the respin.
Three or four scatter symbols award Anarchy Free Spins and Civil War Free Spins respectively. During these features, three or four Jumping Wilds will appear on the grid, changing positions between spins. A modifier train also runs across the top of the grid, containing the following modifiers:
- xWays: adds xWays Mystery Symbols to the grid, which expand both themselves and the size of any reels they land on.
- Free Spins: awards 1-3 extra free spins.
- Jumping Wild: adds an extra Jumping Wild to the reels.
- Multiplier: Jumping Wilds gain a multiplier for the current spin of up to x25.
- 6x6 Grid: expands the grid to a 6x6 format, increasing ways to win.
